The boys baseball team bounced back from a tough loss Monday night to defeat the Broadmoor Bruins 4-1 Tuesday night in a rain shortened affair! Max Dierker was dealing on the mound with the tall, lanky right hander striking out 3 while scattering 5 hits and only 1 walk in the complete game win! Zayne Arthalony was 2-3 with a triple and 2 runs. Jaxon Tumilty picked up a hit and 2 RBI’s and Bo Schnoor delivered a huge RBI single late in the game for the Raiders!
With the win the Raiders move to 6-4 and look to keep things rolling with a home matchup on Thursday vs Dee Mack.

Students - Cheerleading tryouts are September 6, 7, and 8 from 5:00-7:00 PM. Open gyms are on August 23 and 28th from 3:00-5:00 PM. There are information packets in the main office if you are interested in trying out. You must have a sports physical turned in before the tryouts.
Students - Please sign up for girls basketball outside the main office during your lunch hours. You must have a current physical to participate.
Open gym dates for grades 6-8 are August 28 and 29 from 5:00-7:00 PM, September 5 from 6:00-8:00 PM, and September 7 and 8 from 3:00-5:00 PM in Green Valley at the middle school.
Tryouts will be September 11 and 12 from 5:00-7:00 PM at MCMS. Tryout times will be determined by softball postseason.
The softball team will host Morton tonight. Game time is 4:15 PM. The baseball team will travel to Athens for a 4:30 PM game.

MCMS will be kicking off our annual fundraiser with an assembly this Thursday!!
Students will be selling boxes of candy bars. The dates for the fundraiser will be August 24 – September 7 (all money will be due on this date).
Permission slips to sell the candy bars will be sent home with students today. and MUST BE turned back into the office in order to participate. Permission slips need to be returned to the office by Thursday, August 24.
All money raised by this fundraiser will be used to support PBIS awards and other school activities.

Midwest Central Lady Raiders were triumphant over Delavan JH Panthers 4-0 on Thursday, advancing their season record to 6-1.
The Raiders got on the board in the top of the fifth inning after an error scored two runs, Nevaeh tripled, scoring one run, and one run scored on another play.
Midwest Central Lady Raiders piled up eight hits in the game. Katie went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Nevaeh went 1-for-2 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with one run batted in.
Sophia earned the win for Midwest Central Lady Raiders. She gave up zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking two.
The Raiders are back on their home turf Friday hosting an A only game vs. Havana. Good luck ladies!
The Raiders baseball team got more great pitching and timely hitting as they extended their winning streak to 3 with an 8-2 victory over Delavan Thursday night!
Leading 1-0 going into the 5th, the Raiders offense exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th as the Raiders sent 10 hitters to the plate! Jaxon Tumilty was 3-4 with an RBI and Jake Balster and Breckin Guy were both 1-3 with 2 RBI apiece in the winning effort!
Zayne Arthalony picked up the win for the Raiders allowing one run in 6.2 innings while striking out 11 and scattering 2 hits and 3 walks!
The Raiders moved to 4-1 on the young season and look to keep things going Friday at Brimfield!
