The MCHS Spanish Club enjoyed coffee and pastries in Peoria on Saturday morning. Members went to Cafe Santa Rosa, a coffeehouse that partners with a coffee bean farm in Colombia for its beans, followed up by a visit to Bake and Brew Panadería for delicious sweet treats like empanadas and conchas.

A perfectly executed squeeze bunt, a clutch RBI double by Rex Watts and strong pitching led the Raiders to victory on Friday afternoon as the Raiders defeated South Fulton in a tight 2-1 ballgame.
Collin Price picked up the Raiders first RBI of the game with a perfectly executed squeeze bunt to score Max Dierker and get the Raiders on the board, then Dalton Johnson and Rex Watts hit back to back doubles in the bottom of the 6th to put the Raiders on top for good.
Dalton Johnson shoved on the mound, with the junior right hander picking up the win by tossing a complete game scattering 2 hits and 2 walks to go with 9 strikeouts.
The Raiders look to keep the momentum going with a game at IVC on Tuesday night under the lights.

Lady Raiders defeated the Dee-Mack Chiefs 10-6 last night at home. The team looked impressive earning 8 hits, 8 walks, and 0 errors. Lexi Wood earned the win for the Raiders on her birthday, going 3/3 at the plate and leading the Raiders in the circle. Emma Junkin, Mia Warner, and Wood earned 2 RBIs each, as well as Grace Meeks with 1. Ava Warner was also hot at the plate with 2 crucial hits to get things started in the 4th and 6th innings. Houston Butler and Maddie Lowers helped the Raider offense, laying down some imperative bunts. Taylor Keihn stunned at shortstop, and Addison Friedrich shined in centerfield, with 3 put outs and an impressive diving catch. Great job Raiders! We hit the road Monday to play Knoxville at 4:30.

UC Awareness Night
Midwest Central / Illini Central Softball is hosting an Ulcerative Colitis (UC) Awareness Night on May 16! Join us for a home game against Midland. We will have food, silent auction items, and a 50/50 raffle, and bake sale! There will be fun and games for all ages and Mandie’s Snow Shack will be making their famous shaved ice!
During this “Strike Out UC/Crohn’s Night” for the MCHS Lady Raiders, all profits will be donated to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
Shirt orders are open to anyone who would like to support the cause, and we encourage everyone to wear their shirt to the game! Softball players should not use this order form; your coach will place your orders for you. Shirts will be distributed the day before the game and at the game. You will be contacted for pick-up, so please ensure you provide a valid phone number.
Orders are due by Saturday, May 3!
All shirts are $20. Payments can be made by cash or check made out to MCHS at the time of pick-up. Thank you for your support!
