Midwest Central High School recently made another baseball field upgrade. The installation of a turf pitching mound will allow games to be played when normally called off due to conditions. Thanks to the Boosters for helping with the purchase and installation cost of it.

The Midwest Central Golf Team started their season tonight in a quadrangular at Greenview. The Raiders won 2 and lost one.
Any Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior interested in being on Student Council may apply for the Student At – Large positions. Applications are on the bulletin board in the horseshoe hallway, or on the door of Room 10. All applications are due back to Miss Sauder (Room 10) by Wednesday August 27.

Auditions for "Shrek the Musical" will be held on Monday, August 25, Tuesday, August 26, and Wednesday, August 27, at 3:00 PM in the Midwest Central High School Music room. We encourage all freshmen through seniors to participate in the musical. It is a great way to start the year by meeting new people and developing new skills! There is a place for you!

One of the big projects at MCHS this summer was a weightroom renovation. We put the finishing touches on the weightroom and are excited to share it with everyone!
MCHS would like to thank Dr. Hellrigel and the Board of Education for investing in the vision of providing any MCHS student who is interested in strength and conditioning training a top-notch training facility to call home. This project wouldn't have been possible without our MC Booster club as they provided financial backing for many of the aspects of the new weightroom. Lastly, the summer maintenance crew had a huge part in this project, from moving stuff in and out, to repainting the back wall and beyond, this room would not look as good as it does without their hard work!
It's a great time to be a Raider, the future is bright!

Practices for the HS fall sports of volleyball, golf, and cross country starts Monday, August 11th. Volleyball will have tryouts Monday and Tuesday from 3:00-5:00 in the HS gym. Golf will hold practice at Sunset Golf Course starting at noon. Cross Country will hold practice at 3:15-4:30 at the HS. In order to practice, you need a current sports physical and register online at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1vQYLKGpmBf94pfuoMBzWzL_amA6IJNYwbX2DRdZggJs/preview. In order for you to compete in your first match or meet, at least one parent has had to attend one of the Fall Sports Meetings previously held. Please contact Mr. Norris at norris@midwestcentral.org to set up a meeting if you have not already attended one.

Raider Nation – We could use your help. Early this morning at 2:25 AM, 3 males broke into MCHS. They were in the building pilfering items in classrooms and can be seen here with backpacks they stole holding school and employee belongings. One of the backpacks belonged to a contractor doing work at the school. These individuals came through and exited the northeast corner of our back parking lot near Southmoor Ave on foot. They walked throughout the building till around 3:40 AM. They were seen leaving the back lot at 3:41 AM. We’re confident someone in the community knows who these individuals are and can help us solve this crime. If you have any information, please call the district office at 309.968.6868.
