The Raiders hosted Tremont and Delavan in this season’s last home match. It was also senior night for 3 golfers: Zach Highland, Dalton Johnson, and Collin Price. The team faired well beating Tremont by 9 strokes but dropping the match with Delavan by 7. Thanks to the seniors who gave meant a lot to MC’s program’s success.
Reminder - Today is a 1/2 day for students! Buildings will dismiss as follows: PS - 11:40, MS - 11:20, HS - 11:30

The girls JV volleyball team came back after a loss of 19-25 to defeat the Rushville Rockets 25-23 and 15-9. Katie Parkin led the team with 6 service points, 8 kills, and 9 digs. Julia Rasmussen had 8 assist. Grace Meeks led the defense with 10 digs. Great win tonight Lady Raiders!
Amazing 3 set win for the LadyRaiders Varsity. After losing the first set 27-29, the Lady Raiders rallied back winning 25-22 and 25-20. Amelia Meeker led in kills with 19 followed by Kayleigh Herrman with 12. Eliza Kerley rounded out the evening with 6 kills and 4 aces.

A special thank you to our neighboring rural schools—Havana, Illini Central, and Delavan—for joining us. We’re grateful for the collaboration in giving students more opportunities.
👉 Students will rotate through the fair during their assigned grade-level time slot. Outside of the fair, they’ll be working on postsecondary goals through CIS- Illinois Career Information System, personality assessments, and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission-Resources.

The JV volleyball team took 5th place out of 8 teams at a tournament in Pawnee. They beat Tri-City 21-16 & 21-17, Riverton 21-10 & 21-10, Auburn 21-9 & 21-4. They lost to Taylorville 10-21 & 11-21 & Pawnee 18-21, 21-13 & 6-15.

Mrs. Picken's Creative Writing class spent a class period at Oak Grove Cemetery on the northern edge of Manito. They used the location as a place to observe and reflect on different writing angles: sights, sounds, feelings and curiosity. These observations and reflections will be put into their creative nonfiction writing projects.
JV girls took home their first conference win on the road against Illini Central. They lost the first game 20-25 but came back to win the with a 25-16 win & a 15-10 win. Katie Parkin led the team with 8 kills and 4 aces. Our defense was amazing with Emma Markle with 5 digs & Ava Warner with 4 digs.
Varsity volleyball took their first conference win @ Illini Central winning 26-24, 25-23. The Raiders were led in kills by Juniors Amelia Meeker with 12, Kayleigh Herrman with 11 and Eliza Kerley with 7. Libero Addison Friedrich tallied 6 digs

The JV Raiders were in action at home tonight with Delavan and Eureka. They lost both but played OK. The Raiders were led by Jax Tumilty.
Students in Ms. Brodbeck's Spanish 2, 3, and 4 classes were able to try cubano sandwiches. Cubanos have roast pork, ham, cheese, mustard, and lots of pickles! Despite their name, cubanos are more of a Miami food influenced by Cubans than a Cuban food, although Cubans enjoy them too!

At the Rushville Invitational today, the runner Raiders continued their fast pace this season. Dakota Piro ran a new personal best time of 19:57.99 to place 39th overall. This is a 5 minute and 3 second improvement over last years time at this meet. CJ Ballard also ran a great time of 20:54.83 and placed 43rd overall. CJ’s time was almost 2 min and 40 seconds faster than last season.
The Raiders next competition will be Saturday at the Porta Invitational.
