Over the past week, over 30 Midwest Central basketball players have been playing at the Curley "Boo" Johnson Skills for Life Basketball Academy Camp in Dunlap. This camp features over 250 players from Central Illinois and is run by Curley Boo Johnson, who was a former legendary player for the Harlem Globetrotters. For the first time in more than a decade Midwest Central was represented on the coaching staff as Carly DeSutter, Josh Dawe, and J.J. Proehl were selected to be coaches for teams of the younger campers. Of all the schools in the area, Midwest Central had by far the largest representation of athletes in attendance. Congratulations to all the players who worked on their basketball and life skills at the camp and represented our Raider Way!

Hello Raiders, A quick reminder that school will be starting soon. If you've not registered, please do so soon as it's important for us in scheduling and making bus routes that work. If you have questions about registration, please contact your building office (PS-309.968.6464, MS-309.352.2300, HS-309.968.6766) With the middle school construction going on that building is closed right now, but any documents can be dropped at the high school or primary school and we will get them to the middle school. Thank you, Dr. Todd Hellrigel

Last day of cross country camp was this morning.  The campers ran to the "hill" and did their workout there.  On the way back, they made a stop at Casey's. They all did a great job during camp and worked hard on what they were given to do. MS season starts August 5th and HS season starts August 12th.

Last Day
We are delighted to announce the Midwest Central High School fall musical : "The Drowsy Chaperone!" Winner of five Tony Awards, "The Drowsy Chaperone" is a hilarious tale of a pampered Broadway starlet and her debonair fiancé, an overzealous producer, a dizzy chorus girl, a Latin lover and a couple of bumbling gangsters as told through the eyes of the narrator. This show is filled with show-stopping songs and dance numbers and has lots of memorable roles for all. We are looking forward to the production of this fun show! Auditions will be held in August after school begins. Musical dates are October 24, 25, and 26, 2024.

Carly DeSutter was one of the 30 Central Illinois students accepted into the ASM Material Engineering Camp sponsored by the local ASM Peoria Chapter and Caterpillar from July 15-18. The 2024 wrestling camps were a hit! We had a total of almost 60 campers join us! This year we split the camp into two parts. Week one was for the Middle and High schoolers. This week focused on advanced moves, cardio and pushing the wrestlers to their limits. All while learning team building and having fun along the way. Week two focused on basics for the primary school students. 20+ kids had never seen the mat before! It was amazing to see all of them learn what this sport is about! Thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, wrestlers and parents that made these weeks possible! We look forward to an awesome 2024-2025 season for the youth and High School teams!

Fall Meeting
Today was day 1 of the 5th grade - 12th grade XC camp. Some things that were discussed were the different terms used for the paces they will run, the importance of stretching, proper running form, and hydration. The campers went to the track and did some drill work that worked on the proper form they needed to use while running. Camp will continue thru Thursday this week and go from Monday - Thursday of next week. Time is 7:00am - 8:00am at the HS.
