The High School Cross Country team competed at the Elmwood Invitational this morning. Senior Ayden Forbis was running in the top 25 at the half mile when his foot was spiked and he lost his shoe. Having to run the next 2.5 miles with only one shoe he still finished in 18:43. Sophomore Dakota Piro had a big personal best by over a minute in a half finishing in 21:36. Junior CJ Ballard still coming off some illness finished in 23:22. The Raiders will next race at the Pontiac/Prairie Central invite next Saturday in Pontiac.
Mrs. DeSutter's Chemistry students are playing cards today instead of doing Chemistry! Just kidding! Students are playing Salty Eight to learn how ionic compounds are form and named.

The Midwest Central National Honor Society chapter inducted 22 new members on Wednesday, September 25. The National Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in National Honor Society activities. (nhs.org) We are proud to recognize each of these students for their ongoing commitment to their present and future selves. Congratulations!

Another great day to be a Raider! The Golfing Raiders had their IHSA Regionals in Jacksonville today. They performed well and finished 6th as a team. Collin Price, Dalton Johnson, and Zach Highland qualified for sectionals in Quincy on Monday. The Raider Nation is proud of you!
Lady Raiders swept South Fulton Tuesday night. Varsity won in 2 sets (25-21) (25-22). JV won in 3 sets (15-25) (25-17) (16-14). Joslyn had 2 digs. Amelia had 2 kills, 1 assist, 1 ace, and 10 digs. Baylie had 1 assist, 3 aces, and 5 digs, Addison had 1 ace and 2 digs. Lexi had 4 digs. Kayleigh had 7 kills and 3 digs. Maddie had 2 kills, 2 assists, 1 ace, and 6 digs. Eliza had 9 kills, 1 assist, and 2 digs. Emma had 3 kills, 13 assists, 1 ace, and 9 digs. Kally had 2 kills, 1 assist, and 3 digs.
Monday night the Lady Raiders hosted Havana. Varsity fell in 2 sets (18-25) (21-25). JV won in 3 sets (25-16) (22-25) (15-8). Joslyn had 1 dig. Amelia had 8 kills, 2 assists, and 4 digs. Baylie had 1 kill, 1 ace, and 2 digs. Addison had 1 kill, 1 ace, and 7 digs. Kayleigh had 4 kills. Maddie had 2 kills, 1 assist, 1 ace, and 2 digs. Eliza had 1 kill, 1 assist, and 1 block. Emma had 1 kill, 15 assists, 3 aces, and 3 digs. Kally had 3 kills and 1 block.
Varsity Raiders travel to Rushville on Saturday for a tournament. Next week the Lady Raiders host Hartem on Monday, Mt. Pulaski Thursday, and travel to the Beardstown Tournament Saturday.

Today, the seniors in Consumer’s Management class participated in mock interviews with community leaders. Students were able to gain valuable feedback on their interview skills, helping them prepare for post-graduation opportunities.

The cast of “The Drowsy Chaperone” has been busy this week learning choreography for the fall musical! The show will be performed on October 24-26 at 7:30 PM at the Forman Center. Tickets will be sold at the door.
There will be a dinner theater on Saturday, October 26, at 6:00 PM, available by advance tickets sales only. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, October 9, at 7:00 AM, in the high school lobby.
