Mrs. Gough, Mrs. Herrin, and Mrs Frank attended a training on Executive Functioning last week and learned a lot! The teachers have already implemented some of the new strategies into their teachings.
A new strategy was used in gearing up for March Madness when the classes made basketball themed Oreo pops. Students learned how to visualize the finished product first, then work backwards to create a plan and develop steps for making the tasty treats. The next step is the writing process and we are excited to see how this initial strategy helps the kids get their ideas down on paper to create more detailed writing! "Get Ready, Do, Done!"
Message from Mrs. Gough: Parents/Guardians, we learned a great deal on tips and tricks that can benefit you at home if your kiddos struggle with organization and time management. They are very quick and simple strategies. Reach out to Mrs. Gough at the primary school if you're interested in learning more about how this could help at home.

We know our Raiders are trying to make plans for the summer and have had some questions lately about the last day of school for the 2023-24 school year.
It is CURRENTLY May 30th. Please keep in mind that even though we have been blessed with wonderful weather lately, we may still need to use another emergency day before the end of the year and the last day could change.

"We Are Raiders!" Now for the Raiders who really keep Midwest Central Primary School functioning each day. Our paraprofessional team are the masters of all trades. They help students off and on buses, coordinate lunch and recess, assist with all levels of academic learning, help students make friends and demonstrate respect, tie shoes, assist with personal care, play games, and the list goes on and on and on.
Our daily student functioning could not occur without the supports of these paraprofessionals: Front Row: Mrs. Schafer, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Trettin, Mrs. Oertle, Mrs. McIntyre; Back Row: Mrs. Meeker, Mrs. Piro, Mrs. Neulinger, Mrs. Byrd, Mrs. Neulinger, Ms. Mangold, Ms. Sloter (not pictured: Mrs. Garman, library paraprofessional).

HAPPY NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK!!!
Midwest Central is lucky to have 2 amazing ladies in this district who go above and beyond for our students!!

Primary school Raiders got to do a Gymnastics Unit in PE. They learned how to control their bodies in air by squeezing their muscles. Some skills we practiced were: body positions for a hollow hold, tuck, open & closed pike and straddle, forward rolls, tripods, head stands, handstands, and cartwheels. This was SO MUCH FUN!
