The Raiders baseball team kicked off their home opener with great pitching and solid defense to pick up a solid 13-0 victory over the South Pekin Tornadoes!
Garrett Shay shined on the bump for the Raiders in his junior high debut, firing 4 innings of NO HIT baseball to pick up the win! The right hander added 6 strikeouts and only 1 walk as he filled the strike zone all night!
Jase Canada had a double in the first inning to score Jaxton Bolen to start the scoring for the Raiders, and Aden Bell delivered a big blow in the bottom of the second inning to make it 8-0 and put the game out of reach!
The Raiders look to keep things going on Thursday with a home matchup against the Delavan Panthers.

The MS cross country team competed today at Delavan. This was their first meet of the 2025 season. The weather was a little warm but they were at least able to get a race in. The girls and boys ran their races together over the 2 mile course. No team scores or places were kept. The times for our runners were:

MCMS Raiders Softball advanced to 3-2 in their season after Libby Duwaldt threw a shutout past Ingersoll Little Giants 9-0 on Thursday at home.
Kynlie Hilst collected three hits in three at bats in the win. Kynlie singled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
MCMS Raiders Softball got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Sophia Holeman singled down the right field line, Ingersoll Little Giants committed an error, and Peyton Collins singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
The team accumulated 11 total hits in the game. Kynlie and Peyton Collins each collected three hits. Peyton went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Sophia collected two hits for MCMS Raiders Softball in four at bats. The Raiders turned one double play in the game when Peyton Collins caught a line drive at first and tagged the runner.
