Pitching and defense were the name of the game for the Raiders baseball team Thursday night, defeating Peoria Norte Dame 4-2! Rylan Nowack picked up the win in his season debut on the bump, allowing one earned run while scattering 5 hits and 3 walks over his 6 innings of work and Collin Parkin picked up his first save of the season. The Raiders defense was terrific all night, turning a big double play in the 5th inning and committing only one error on the afternoon!
The Raiders are back at it again Friday night for a varsity matchup against Peoria Christian.

Last Friday, students in Mrs. Picken’s English 3 classes took a field trip to Dickson Mounds Museum in Lewistown. Earlier in the semester, the students studied Native American literature, and they also learned about the museum that we have in our neighboring Fulton County. We were led by the museum’s Curator of Anthropology, Logan Pappenfort, who had the students do a research/excavation activity with artifacts and draw conclusions about those artifacts and the people who used them.

Mrs. DeSutter's Physics students performed their Egg Drop lab practical today! Students were given a set amount of material to build a contraption that kept their egg safe from a fall of 1.75 meters. The twist was, not only did the egg need to go unscathed, BUT they had to determine the kinetic energy and potential energy, gravitational force and velocity of their egg contraption. Their faces say it all!!
