Jacy Watts' (2021) softball season is going strong at University of Illinois-Springfield. Jacy is a psychology major in the classroom but on the field, Jacy is a great catcher and has impressive batting stats! She has a 0.304 batting average with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homerun and 14 RBI's already this year! UIS' overall record is 18 and 12! You can "catch" Jacy at her next home game at the UIS Softball Complex in Springfield on April 6th (12:00 PM & 2:00 PM), April 7th (12:00 PM & 2:00 PM), April 9th (1:00 PM & 3:00 PM)! MCHS has five seniors participating in ICC’s dual credit welding program at the Pekin campus. They attended their first welding competition with American Welding Society, and our Raiders showed up!!! There were 53 students competing in the competition, and each of our students did so well!!!

And.....(drum roll please)....the winner of Mrs. DeSutter's Physics class egg drop was Archer!!!! Student dropped their egg drop contraptions from a 6 foot ladder! Those that survived were dropped from the ceiling of the classroom!! AND, the surviving 4 were dropped from the roof of the school!!! Congrats to Courtney, Rylan, Josh F and Archer for making it to the last round! Now comes the hard part - calculating kinetic energy, potential energy and velocity of the contraption!
Logan Tharp, a senior at Midwest Central High School, has been selected by the faculty and staff as Student of the Month in Foreign Language. Logan is the son of Dan and Beth Tharp.
Throughout high school, Logan has been involved in Band, Scholastic Bowl and History League.
After graduating, Logan plans to attend ICC to study Applied Science and then begin a career as an electrician.
Logan would like to thank Mrs. Brobeck and the Midwest Central staff for this opportunity.

Senior, Khloee got the opportunity to job shadow a local vet in San Jose, Illinois yesterday. She got to observe a spay procedure on a dog and participated in an appointment where a cow had an abscess checked out.
Khloee will be pursuing a degree in Agriculture Pre-Veterinary Medicine at Illinois State University. She is an exceptional student who is passionate about animals, especially horses.
We are proud of our Raider!!!
Our FFA members had an incredible experience at the Agriculture Legislative Day in Springfield, IL! They met with legislators, toured the Capitol building, and soaked up knowledge about the agricultural industry and Illinois government! But most importantly, they had a blast and learned so much!
