Student Council is happy to announce that they are having a Pumpkin Painting Contest! You will have to turn your own pumpkin in between Monday October 20th and Wednesday October 22nd, to the front office. Students and staff will be voting on the best pumpkin by a slip of paper on Thursday, October 23rd, parents will be voting on the day of Parent/Teacher Conferences. Your pumpkins will be numbered to make it easier to vote. Your pumpkin must be school appropriate, if not, it will not be in the vote. NO CARVING. Third place winner will receive candy corn and candy pumpkins, 2nd place will get candy apples, and first place will get a Pumpkin Pie from Costco. Good Luck Raiders!

Cooking for a cause, has delicious Halloween themed treats. Options include chocolate covered pretzel pretzel rods, chocolate covered, pretzel rods decorated with colorful sprinkles, and chocolate chips, zombie brownies with a peppermint topping, and a sweet and salty Halloween mix. We also have a couple of chocolate covered oreos left. Prices are either two dollars or three dollars.

Don’t forget to submit your math is sweet answers today. Winners will be drawn on Monday and will receive a sweet treat or snack as a prize.

Midwest Central Girls Basketball swept Illini Central Thursday night in Mason City. 7th grade girls improved to 4-3 by winning 18-4. Kynlie H and Libby D each had 8 points and Evan M added 2. 8th grade girls improved to 6-1 by winning 41-18. Peyton B led the way with 14, Sophia H had 11, Nora D and Zoey C each had 6, Kynlie H had 3 and Angel M added 1.

8th grade boys’ basketball tryouts are Monday, October 20th, 3:00-4:45pm

7th grade boys’ basketball tryouts are Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21st, 3-4:45pm. Please have an updated sports physical and completed athletic registration by tryouts!

Tomorrow, Jaina Butler and Reid Sidders will compete at the IESA State Cross Country Finals! Both Jaina and Reid are the first Midwest Central Middle School athletes to compete at the state meet since the program started! Jaina will run at 10:45 and Reid will run at 11:30. The Raider Nation is proud of you, we will send off our runners in true Raider fashion with a pep rally at the end of the day today!

Picture re-take day is Wednesday, November 5th. We will hand out picture forms closer to November 5th.
