Hello and welcome to Midwest Central CUSD 191 where our vision is to be the best possible place for people to work and students to learn. Our students and staff experience a warm, inviting atmosphere where you’re not just a student or employee but someone we care about. Whether you’re a student, teacher, support staff, or bus driver, you’re important to us.

Midwest Central is a hidden gem providing a wide variety of curricular and extra-curricular activities. We’re a full service Pre-K to 12th grade district offering free preschool beginning at age 3. Students will be challenged by a rigorous curriculum preparing them for whatever path in life they choose. Our graduates have the ability to enter all walks of life. Midwest Central boasts the best agricultural program in the area. Having both a metal and wood shop, our students get hands-on, real-world application. If you aspire to attend college, we have an excellent preparation program with opportunities to earn several college credits before you graduate. Midwest Central is the only school in the area that can boast two recent military academy placements. Our students graduate with strong leadership skills to propel them into their next phase of life.

If quality of life is what you seek, Midwest Central CUSD has you covered. Green Valley, Manito, Forest City, and Topeka offer very economical housing opportunities. Our tax rate is the 2nd lowest in Mason and Tazewell counties. There are plenty of job opportunities in the surrounding areas and your dollar just stretches further here. If it’s room to roam you seek, Sand Ridge State Park offers 6,500 public acres for hiking, horseback riding, hunting, and camping. Spring Lake State Park offers 1,285 acres of fishing.

If you’re not convinced Midwest Central is the right place to raise your family, give me a call. I’d be happy to provide you with a tour of the district and additional information that will prove Midwest Central is the best place for your student to learn.
