Mr. Jack Olson

Computer Applications 1 and 2- General learning of correct key usage and Microsoft Office Programs especially in CA1. Correct forms for letters, term papers and other business forms. Work on speed building and accuracy.

Introduction to Business- Basic introduction to economies and our economy and business types. Career work and information along with banking including checking accounts. Information on credit and insurance. Job shadowing is required and a year of Intro to business takes the place of Consumer Management as requirement.

Consumer Management or Intro to Business is required for graduation. Consumer Management covers such things as: brief introduction to economies, career information including a Job Shadowing Experience, credit, banking and financial services including investing, insurance, and buying goods and services.

Business Law deals with contracts and laws that affect business and consumers. Also brief work with some types of criminal law for minors.

Job Shadowing

A major part of the Consumer Management and Introduction to Business curriculum is the Job Shadowing experience.  Each student is given a day to go out into the work world to come into contact with a new field.  This semester Leanne Schleder and Mitch Hanson both underwent the job shadowing experience.  Leanne went to Trotter Chiropractic in Peoria, IL.  Mitch went to GM Truck Group in Janesville, Wisconsin.
